Emily Dai: Senate Majority
Emily Dai, a senior, is extremely excited to serve as your Senate Majority Leader. This is her third year in the Model Congress club. Aside from Model Congress, Emily is also the president for the National Art Honor Society and secretary for Model UN. In her free time, she enjoys running track for Maggie Walker and hanging out with her friends.
Siddharth Venigalla: Senate Minority
Siddharth Venigalla, a junior at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School, looks forward to serving as the Senate Minority Leader at this year’s Walker Model Congress Conference. Siddharth has been involved in Model Congress since middle school, and in fact his first Model Congress experience was serving as a delegate for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee at the 2015 Walker Model Congress conference. Last year, Siddharth chaired the Senate Foreign Relations committee and he vice chaired the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, in his freshman year. In addition to Model Congress, Siddharth is also Secretary of French Club and French Honor Society, Treasurer of TSA, a chair for GSMUN, and an active member of the Quizbowl team. He is excited for this year's Walker Model Congress, and he knows that the delegates will make this year an enjoyable and enriching experience!
Madoc Kimball is a senior at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s school and extremely excited for his second year chairing for the WMC Judiciary. Besides Model Congress, he enjoys reading, drawing, acting, writing, and spending time with friends, as well as volunteering for a variety of local programs in Virginia. He has a passion for not only politics and theater but also languages and is excited to continue his education in Japanese and Spanish. Madoc is the captain of the school Improv Club, writes for the school newspaper, and loves to create and make people laugh. He is equally elated to be able to work with future minds to solve contemporary issues in a structured congressional setting, and hopes for an amazing conference for all participants.
Asher Llewellyn, a junior at Maggie Walker, is looking forward to co-chairing the Senate Judiciary Committee! Outside of Model Congress, Asher plays soccer for Maggie Walker, and he studies Spanish and German. He loves working on Model UN as well as Model Congress, with interests especially in science and math. Outside of school, Asher enjoys volunteering at the Richmond SPCA and working with dogs. He is excited to be chairing with his amazing co-chair, Marina Peebles, for the 2017-2018 WMC year.
Cara Davis is a senior at Maggie Walker and she's chairing for the first time at Walker Model Congress. In the past she has served both as a vice chair and a volunteer. Outside of Model Congress, she enjoys being the secretary for the Class of 2019 and an officer for the environment club! She cannot wait for all the fun ahead with her committee at WMC 2018 alongside her fantastic co-chair, Erica Cummings!
Erica is a senior at Maggie Walker and she is chairing for the first time after being a vice chair at last year’s WMC. Outside of Model Congress, Erica enjoys playing field hockey, doing synchronized swimming, and playing the guitar. She has loved being a part of Model Congress in the past and can’t wait for this year’s WMC alongside her amazing co-chair, Cara Davis.
Environment & Public Works
Uzair Bhatti is a sophomore at Maggie Walker Governor's school and he’s chairing for the first time at Walker Model Congress. He has loved Model Congress since attending WMC as a delegate and since then she has traveled to Washington DC, to attend Princeton Model Congress Conference and is look forward to attending more MoCo conferences in the future. Last year he was a vice chair for the Supreme Court, and is extremely excited to chair the Environment and Public works committee in WMC 2019. Uzair participates in many other clubs, being a chair for GSMUN, and the secretary of the schools arabic club. Uzair’s other hobbies include basketball, spanish, and arabic.
Yashodhara Varma, a junior at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School, looks forward to chairing the Environment and Public Works Committee. She has been involved in Model Congress and Model United Nations for two years. Additionally, Yashodhara swims for Maggie Walker and leads the Environmental Club, SECSEE.
Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions
Amanda is a sophomore at Maggie Walker and this is her first time chairing, although she did vice-chair last year. She is very excited to be involved with Model Congress this year and loves politics in general. In her free time, she enjoys playing field hockey, playing the violin, and learning languages. Although she is not involved in any political party clubs in the school, she enjoys staying politically informed and reading news.
Kate Driebe is a junior at Maggie Walker and she’s chairing for the first time at Walker Model Congress. After volunteering last year for Walker Model Congress, Kate could not wait to become more involved. Though this is her first time chairing she is very excited. Her other hobbies include Model UN, Robotics, and Field Hockey.
